First Friday Art Trail: Meet the Authors
Wild Lark Books is hosting Lubbock Authors James Stoddard and Patrick Hanford for a meet the author and book signing event during July’s First Friday Art Trail.
James Stoddard’s short stories have appeared in SF publications such as Amazing Stories and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. His stories, The Battle of York, and The First Editions, were included in Eos Books’ The Year’s Best SF, and Tors’ The Year’s Best Fantasy, respectively. His novel, The High House, won the Compton Crook Award for best fantasy by a new novelist and was nominated for several other awards. Two sequels, The False House and Evenmere followed. His latest novel, Liberty Bell and the Last American, appeared in 2021.
Patrick Hanford has lived in Texas most of his life. He graduated from the University of North Texas, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and recently retired from family medicine after thirty-five years. He interjects his medical clinic experiences to develop emotional, psychological, and physical blemishes within his characters and throughout his stories.
He lives with his wife, plays golf, walks in the West Texas wind, and travels from one end of Texas to the other visiting children and grandchildren.
His passion for reading and writing has progressed to publishing short stories and novels. Fabricated Lies was released in early 2022.
